Description
Beginner is a course of foundation that teaches everyday how to communicate in social and business contexts, with basic grammar. The course addresses all four language skills as Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing, with a concentration on Speaking.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of Beginner, you will be able to:
- Greet others using culture-specific expressions
- Introduce oneself, and share information about occupation, nationality, country of origin, and family.
- Introduce a third person (colleague, friend, family, or family member etc.).
- Describe daily life (plans, routines and schedules), such as “I have a meeting tomorrow; We are busy right now. I take my children to school in the morning. We will visit Mecca soon; I can speak Arabic a little etc.”
- Describe likes and dislikes, such as, “I love Indian food. I like to travel to Qatar. I do not like traffic, I do not like to think so much etc.”
- Describe current state of being, such as “I am very hungry; I have, I am tired / bored / happy because…etc.”
- Engage in dialogue with others; ask and respond to questions, such as “How long have you been living in India? Where do you work? Do you visit gulf countries every year? How many children do you have? When is his appointment with the doctor?”
- Invite friends and people for lunch, dinner etc.
- Give and ask for directions
- Describe travel plans and hotel stays
- Describe life in India
- Discuss personal information, pertaining to occupation, nationality, family status and others
- Describe the
foreign language learning experiences.
- Make, reschedule, and cancel appointments
- Discuss working hours and work shifts
- Shop for gifts and other items
- Inquire about and negotiate prices
- Order food at the restaurant
- Describe an event you attended
